I hope you are settling into your classes and working hard to earn good grades.  I will be in your Modern World classes soon to review graduation/college admission requirements and to present to you some study skill techniques. 

In the meantime, continue to work hard and keep up the grades.  Remember that colleges use your 10th and 11th grade gpa's for admission eligibility. 

If you have not done so already, I also recommend that you sign up to take the PSAT's this year and next year if possible.  Tickets go on sale in Ms. Balisi's office (she is next door to me) starting September 26th at lunch time.  She will continue to sell tickets until she runs out.  The PSAT's will take place at Lincoln on October 20th from 8am -11:45am.  If you are planning on attending a 4 year college after high school, you will need to take the SAT's or the ACT's to meet college admission requirements.  The PSAT will help you prepare for the SAT test and will give you a detailed 2 page feedback on what areas you need to work on.  The test costs $25, but fee waivers are available for students who qualify.
