Karen J. Melander ACE pathway and GATE Coordinator
I began teaching at ALHS in 1993. I love to challenge children and get them excited about learning. Often our gifted students do not reach their potential in general education. Five years ago I created the ACE Pathway which seeks to offer gifted and/or highly motivated students the ability to challenge themselves within a creative, intellectually and socially interactive environment. For information about GATE and ACE pathway please see "School Information" on our website and reference "GATE" and/or "Academies and Pathways".
Currently I am teaching two sections of 9th grade Art and Architecture, one section of AP Art History, and one section of Advanced Architectural Design.
