Bio
I have taught English at Abraham Lincoln High School since 2002. In 2010, I took over the Journalism program as well. I earned my Bachelors of Arts in English and secondary teaching credential from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 2000. I spent many years in college co-facilitating improvisational theatre workshops with incarcerated men and youth, an experience that inspired me to pursue the teaching profession. I taught middle school and worked as an environmental educator before coming to Lincoln. I earned National Board Certification in 2011. I love language and hope to inspire my students to find their voices and think critically about the world around them. When not teaching, I enjoy studying martial arts, reading, cooking, gardening, and traveling.
