  • Be Careful On The CSU Application - If you are applying to more than one California State University, you can save time by submitting one application first before submitting others because your information will auto-populate (transfer) to subsequent applications. Then you will only have to make a few changes to the newly selected application and can submit it more quickly.
  • Interested In Cal Poly San Luis Obispo? - If it is your #1 choice, consider applying Early Decision (deadline is October 31st). With Early Decision you will find out if you've been admitted by December 15, 2008. If you are denied early admission, you will be considered for regular admission (a second chance!). Details at www.csumentor.edu or ask in the College/Career Center.
  • Did You Miss Your Senior Portrait Appointment? - Prestige will return to Lincoln the week of November 17th. You will automatically be given an appointment if you missed out last week.

  • YES, It's The Busy Season For The College/Career Center - Please be sure to sign up for an appointment with Ms. Martinez or Ms. Zales. Drop-ins are welcome, but appointments have priority when it's busy. Please come prepared with your questions, transcript, etc., when you come to see us for assistance during lunch or after school. This will make the process smoother and quicker for everyone. Thank you for your collaboration. See you soon in room 53.
  • Come To The College Center - during lunchtime on Tuesday to meet with a representative of the National Guard.
  • THIS IS THE FIRST DAY OF SPIRIT WEEK - which will run until Friday, October 17th. Every day there will be a Dress Up Theme and Class Competition happening at lunch in the courtyard, with points awarded towards the Mustang Class Challenge. Tomorrow's Dress Up Theme is Retro. Be proud to be a Mustang and show your spirit.
  • Homecoming Dance Tickets - are selling fast! If you want to attend one of the most enjoyable dances of the year, buy your ticket now. They will be on sale every day this week during lunch at the Mustang Cage and in the courtyard until sold out.
  • Class of 2010 Homeroom Meeting - on Wednesday in the auditorium.
  • San Francisco Family Festival Is Coming - on Saturday, October 18th, from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Yerba Buena Gardens. This free event features live entertainment by San Francisco youth performers, roving artists and entertainers, dozens of games and activities, and a community resource fair presenting over 100 organizations. Flyers are available on the counter in the main office.
  • YOGA On Tuesdays - @ 3:45 p.m. with Ms. Lauren in the wrestling room in the south gym.
  • Thai Club - will meet during lunch in Bungalow 12.
  • CSF - always meets at 12:00 noon in the library.
  • Faculty Handbook - If you have not received a Faculty Handbook, either hard copy of by e-mail you MUST see me. Every teacher is to have a copy of the handbook. I have put out previous bulletins about this and there are still some of you that have not seen me to take care of this. Please see me ASAP! Until you get yours be aware there is a copy of every Department Head office.
  • Blue Pop Up Sun Shade Canopy Needed - for the half-time reception for the Bell Game. We will host the half-time reception this year and it will be held on the practice field. I have one canopy and need to borrow one more for that day only, in order to "set the stage" for our party. This is an annual event for faculty & staffs of Lincoln and Washington. It is a time for us all to enjoy each other over snacks. If you have a canopy and are willing to loan it for the event, please let me know in the main office.
  • Attention Faculty & Staff - Yes, we show our spirit! Last Wednesday, October 1st, a Spirit Week(s) calendar of theme dress up days was placed in your box. Please encourage students to participate, too. Post that calendar in your classroom. On the day we have HR; HR officers will count the number of participants in the classroom and return a daily tally sheet to Mr. Kamkar's drawer to earn points for their class. So let's have fun with the kids. Join us outside at the courtyard during lunch for the Battle of the Classes lunchtime activities. Got Spirit?
  • Help Us Fundraise For The Washington, D.C. Trip - by volunteering at the Nike Women's Marathon. The marathon is Sunday, October 19th. The marathon raises money to fight leukemia and lymphoma. If you have some time to spare that morning please see me in room 21 C. Thanks!
  • Be In Fashion For The Bell Game! - Buy an ALHS zip-up hooded sweat jacket. They are $28 and can be purchased in room 21 C. All proceeds to the Class of 2009.
