- Congratulations To Hannah Yan (10X) - who returned a lost fast pass and money to the main office. She will be rewarded with a gift card to Borders and a Mustang pin. Way to go!
- Summer School Applications Due TODAY - Please return your application if you have not done so already. If you need to sign up for summer school, please see your counselor immediately!
- The Class of 2009 Will Have - Polly Ann's night on Friday, May 9th ALL DAY! Polly Ann's is located on the corner of 39th Ave. and Noriega St. There will be an ALHS box to drop your receipts, which is very important because this is a fund raising activity for the class. Come and support the junior class!
- The Class of 2010 Will Have A FREE Car Wash - this Saturday, Ma 10, from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. It will happen by the bungalows near 22nd Ave. and Quintara St. We will also have a bake sale, so even if you don't have a car, you can come for the food!
- American Literature Honors For 2008-09 - You must confirm with Ms. Buchanan in room 221 by TODAY to hold your position in class.
- The DramA Department Would Like To Show You Some Southern Hospitality - Come see the spring play, The Foreigner, by Larry Shue. Performances run Thursday, May 8th, Friday, May 9th and Friday, May 16th at 7:30 p.m. with a special matinee on Thursday, May 15th at 3:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 for students, $10 for adults and can be bought at the Little Theater door. Come see the last drama show of the year!
- Prom Attendees - If you need a corsage/boutonniere/garter for Prom, a S & V representative will be here next week from Monday - Wednesday during lunchtime in front of the main office to take orders.
- Are You An Artist? Are You Asian Pacific American? - Apature provides artists with an early experience presenting their work at a large event. You can submit in visual or performing arts, music/sound, literary arts, film/video and tables/printed materials. If you are interested come to the Wellness Center for a flyer and an application which are in the info binder.
- Are You Interested In The Environment - marine science and teaching? The Farallones Marine Sanctuary Association is offering 2 paid internships this summer. You will learn environmental education teaching techniques, gain valuable teaching experience, work with a diverse community of youth, and learn about marine science and conservation. Come to the Wellness Center for more information in the info binder.
- Congratulations To Will Aspelin - who was honored at the Jewish Sports Hall of Fame/Northern California with 6 other high school students on May 4th. He received a scholarship and special recognition.
- Congratulations To The Health Idol Final Three - Jeff Kim, Ian Enriquez, and Steven Flynn! The final round will take place at lunch this Friday in the north gym. Come see who will be the new Health Idol!
- CHALK Is Now Hiring - They are hiring 20 youth for 20 part-time positions working as a CHALK Outreach Worker and work closely with your community to hand out resources, or work with Youthline and take calls from youth in need and provide peer support. No experience necessary - they will train you. $10 per hour. Come to the Wellness Center or visit www.youthlinesf.org. Applications must be submitted by May 30, 2008 by 5:00 p.m.
- Ice Cream, You Scream, We All Scream For Ice Cream! - Come support the Class of 2009 on our last fundraiser of the year. Buy some ice cream and drop your receipt in the Class of 2009 receipt box. Partial earnings will go to our class and Prom 2009. See you there this Friday, May 9th. (All Day! Whoo!)
- Free Events this weekend in the Bay Area - Celebrate Ghana in Oakland or go to the Embarcadero and learn how to cook brain food from the chef who fed Google. For more info, check out the bulletin board in front of the man office.
- THANKYOU! - As you all know our family experienced a house fire in the month of March which left our family on the street. I would like to thank you all for your support during this rough time of need. The time set aside to help us during this difficult moment is greatly appreciated. - The Saybrook Community Series - on Psychology and Culture presents Growing Up Teen: Dialogues on Urban-American Teenage Life and Culture (series), to provide educators, counselors, and parents a fresh look at teen development within an urban-American stance. The first dialogue will be "Building Family, Educators and the Community" on Wed., May 21 from 7-9 p.m. at the First Unitarian Universalist Church and Center in The Martin Luther King Room (1187 Franklin St. @ Geary). - If You Are Planning To Attend City College In The Summer or Fall - you should take the English and math placement tests at CCSF this Saturday morning, May 10th, if you have not already done so. Tests begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. in Conlon Hall, room 101, on the CCSF campus.
- San Francisco Business & Professional Women, Inc. - has a scholarship available, due (received) May 12, 2008. Qualifications: must have maintained a C average in all classes in high school, financial need, leadership qualities and school/community activities. - Job Opportunity - for students between the ages of 15-20 at SFSU: Youth Lead! Facilitator position. Available at SFSU's Pacific Leadership Institute program. Pays $10/hr. Training provided. Must be willing to learn, develop and apply leadership skills; have the ability to work with a variety of different people with a positive attitude, and present yourself in a mature and professional manner. - Softball - Congrats to the team for defeating Washington 9-7 in the semi-finals. Championship game is Friday at Lang Field @ 3:30. Come out and cheer the team on to a big win!!

- Open Coaching Positions - Asst. Baseball Varsity, Soccer Girls, Soccer Boys, and Softball. If you are interested please put a note in Mr. Scott's mail drawer.
- Invitational Assembly - On Tuesday, May 13th, a multi-media presentation sponsored by MADD will take place during 2° in the auditorium. Teachers who would like to bring their class to this assembly on teenage drinking are asked to sign up in the main office by Monday.
- Consolidation Placement Fair - for Secondary Schools at Everett Middle School on May 15 from 4-7 p.m.
