Track is very well known in high school since most middle schools also offer this sport.
Track attracts returning runners from middle school, returning high school runners and new runners as well. Track includes sprinting, long distance, shot-put, discus and the long/high jump. Both requires and helps develop mental, physical strength and fitness.

Sprinters run short distances. It requires speed, strength and determination.
Practices are mainly after school on the SOTA track.
Sprinters focus on arm movement, mechanics, speed, strength, reflexes and agility.
Events includes: relays, 100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters.

Long distance welcomes those who have or want to gain endurance for running. It also promotes self esteem and self motivation, contributing to overall fitness and well being.
Practices takes place after school.
Runners run on our own track, to the beach, to Golden Gate Park, around the reservoir and occasionally around Lake Merced.
Long distance runners focus on endurance, strength, some amount of speed and pacing.
Events includes: 400 meters, 800 meters, 1600 meters (one mile), and 3200 meters (two miles).

Overall, Lincoln's 2008 Track Team's performance is exceptionally well.
